I visited Haiti just two days after the devastating 2010 earthquake. During the trip, I found myself surrounded by children in orphanages, and I couldn’t help but think about my two biological kids back home. I called my wife, Emma, to ask what we should do.
We eventually decided to adopt from Haiti. Through a series of events, our plans increased from adopting one child to adopting four children. When all was said and done, Emma and I had six kids under the age of 8.
We shared our story in People Magazine in early 2015. Not only did we get a 9-page spread to tell our story, but my son even made the cover. (Check out the upper right-hand corner.)
In addition to the print story, PEOPLE.com posted several online stories about our journey, including one at this link.
